OUR STORY

2022

In 2022, approximately 4.8 million children under the age of 5 died — most from preventable causes such as preterm birth complications, pneumonia, diarrhea, and malaria.

2023

Noncommunicable diseases account for 75% of adult deaths in the region, with diabetes, heart disease, and respiratory illnesses leading the causes.

2024

In 2024, around 700 women in the MENA region died each day from preventable pregnancy and childbirth complications. Maternal mortality rates remain 65% higher than in the U.S. and Europe.

So many lives could have been saved.

MENA Health was born out of Gaza — witnessing its healthcare system collapse left us feeling helpless. But we realized we could still reach those who needed only the basics: essential treatment, access to a doctor, and a chance to survive. "Preventable deaths " became our guiding principle.

As similar crises unfolded across the MENA region, we scaled to meet complex needs at high volume. We know we can’t save everyone — but by closing critical healthcare gaps, we can stop people from dying needlessly. That’s what drives us forward every single day.
